Go Over the Edge!This is a once in a lifetime opportunity for real thrill seekers! Only 100 participants will be allowed to rappel 200 feet off the roof of the Lumiere Casino in downtown St. Louis on Friday October 2nd. You will receive a photo and patch to commemorate the event, attend a post event reception at the Lumiere. and be eligible for outstanding incentives and prizes. Truck Convoy for Special Olympics!Join us Saturday September 26th, as we attempt the world's largest truck convoy to raise funds for Special Olympics. Truckers will meet at the Family Arena in St. Charles and convoy (led by law enforcement) through St. Louis to the T.R. Hughes Ballpark in O'Fallon. Once there, they will be greeted by Special Olympics athletes, family, friends, colleagues, law enforcement, and organizations, companies and agencies that make up the trucking industry. Ride for the GoldGet out your bike or classic car and join us Sunday, September 13th for the 6th annual Ride for the Gold poker run to support Special Olympics. Register at the O'Fallon Missouri South Shop'n Save (3740 Monticello Plaza Drive) Sunday from 9am to 11am. First 200 riders will receive a ride bandana and event pin along with a route map. $20 donation to ride. $5 for additional rider. Water and snacks provided at each stop. Complimentary meal at end of ride. There will also be a silent auction and 50/50 raffle. All procedes benefit Special Olympics. Food For All Hunger Action Month CampaignSeptember 1-September 30, 2009Kirkwood, MO (August 27, 2009) —Hunger affects our neighbors near and far. SHOP ‘N SAVE is working with Food For All in support of national Hunger Action Month. SHOP ‘N SAVE will be running a Hunger Action Month fundraiser this September to benefit the St. Louis Area and Central Illinois Food Banks. Getting involved in the program is as easy as 1, 3, 5! The next time you shop at SHOP ‘N SAVE, look for the Hunger Action Month boards stocked with $1, $3 and $5 donation coupons at any checkout lane. To make a donation please select a coupon, hand it to the cashier to be scanned, and the amount will automatically appear on your receipt. All donations are tax-deductible, and the proceeds will benefit the St. Louis Area Food Bank and Central Illinois Food Bank. “During these tough economic times we understand that many members of our community are in need of relief. That’s why we have teamed up with Food For All for our Hunger Action Month fundraiser. We hope to raise as much money as possible to fund each of the participating food banks in the St. Louis Metropolitan and Springfield, Illinois areas.” states Marlene Gebhard, president of SHOP ‘N SAVE. Stop in any Shop'n Save store and pick up a Dora the Explorer sheet to color. Bring your sheet back to the store and we will display your work and you will have a chance to win a $20 Toys'r Us gift card. Two age groups: 4 to 6, and 7 to 9.
