  • 1 pound fresh plums chopped
  • 1 cup chopped red onion
  • 3/4 cup firmly packed Essential Everyday Light Brown Sugar
  • 1/4 cup dried currents
  • 1/4 cup Essential Everyday Balsamic Vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon minced fresh gingerroot
  • 1 tablespoon chopped garlic
  • 1 teaspoon whole yellow mustard seeds
  • 1 teaspoon ground coriander
  • 1 teaspoon Essential Everyday Ground Cinnamon
  • 1 teaspoon Essential Everyday Crushed Red Pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon Essential Everyday Salt


In a medium saucepan, combine all ingredients over medium heat. Bring to a boil.

Simmer, stirring occasionally, about 35-40 minutes or until reduced by a third.

Reduce heat to medium-low and continue cooking 10 minutes or until chutney is a syrupy consistency, stirring frequently to make sure chutney does not burn.

Serve with grilled chicken or pork.
