(Indian Fried Rice)

  • 1 cup Wild Harvest Organic Indian Basmati Brown Rice
  • 2 cups water
  • 2 tablespoons Wild Harvest Organic Extra Virgin Olive Oil
  • 1 cup thinly sliced onion
  • 1 teaspoon minced garlic
  • 1 cup peeled and cubed Wild Harvest Organic Russet Potatoes
  • 1 14.5 ounce can Wild Harvest Organic Diced Tomatoes undrained
  • 1/3 cup Wild Harvest Organic Frozen Green Peas
  • 2 1/2 teaspoons Garam Masala spice blend
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons freshly ground Wild Harvest Natural Sea Salt
  • 1/4 cup chopped Wild Harvest Organic Fresh Cilantro


Prepare rice according to package directions, cooking for 15 minutes.

Meanwhile, heat oil in a medium saucepan. Add onions and garlic. Sauté 1 minute. Add potatoes; fry for 2 minutes, stirring occasionally.

Add tomatoes and peas, cover and cook for 5 minutes. Add Garam Masala and salt.

Stir in partially cooked rice and water. Bring to a boil. Reduce heat and cover. Continue cooking 20-25 minutes or until rice and potatoes are soft. Stir in cilantro.
